Have you yearned to brew your own delicious ale, but have never quite gotten around to it? Join me for a break between the holidays to learn the ins and outs of the homebrew process: from boiling wort to pitching yeast to racking and capping! We will be focusing on making a spruce tip winter ale and then bottling a lagered gruit while we wait for the ale to cool. I will explain all-grain vs. extract brewing (this will be extract with a partial mash), hop additions and IBU’s, ales vs. lagers, bottling vs. kegging, and quite a lot more. Stick around until the end of class and you can take home a growler full of the winter ale! Just make sure to bring your own growler (only a few bucks at a thrift store). I’ll provide the airlock :)

Recommended experience: Beginner
Required supplies: none, though a growler is recommended
